SERCEB Mission

Through our programs in host-pathogen interactions and interventions, SERCEB aims to
discover new therapies and principles by which effective vaccines and other intervention
measures can be developed for diseases and pathogens that threaten the health of our
citizens.

Our cross-institutional research programs focus on alphaviruses and flaviviruses (with an emphasis on dengue), influenza viruses, coronaviruses and virus evolution, Francisella and Y. pestis, and innate and adaptive immunity. SERCEB also supports additional collaborations through internally administered award programs.

Our mission includes emergency response, education and training programs for investigators new to biodefense and emerging infectious disease research, including
